Kyle Smith performs Friday evening
< strong>706 Home had their second tasting of the year and it was a nice way to end a long week. If you haven’t stopped by for one of the tastings you should. The present some very nice wines that they feature in the shop and have quite the collection of nibbles. They had four wines featured Friday night.
I have to say I was impressed with the Sur De Los Andes Malbec Clasico. This was one of the best Malbecs I’ve had in quite some time. At $13 I think this one is a bargain.
Sur De Los Andes Malbec Clasico
The Sur De Los Andes Malbec Clasico

Nice and dark with a rich fruit forward start. Whenever I see the word “Clasico or Classic” mentioned I think of old fashioned. But I was somewhat surprised at the very modern label on this wine and very impressed with what I would describe as more of a New World style of wine.
In addition to the great food Kyle Smith was performing on the guitar. A local musician, Kyle added to the ambiance of the event.
I saw Tia there (I had spoken with her at a tasting the previous night) and she agreed that the Sur De Los Andes Malbec was a nice enjoyable wine.
If you missed the tasting you should still stop and see 706 Home. There isn’t a shop like it anywhere else in Augusta. Nice wines and an eclectic selection of home furnishing and accessories.
