[three_fourth]I was tired of green beer so I dropped by the Vineyard Friday afternoon. I started out wit the Dr. Konstantin Frank Riesling which is a very nice dry Riesling. If you drink Riesling for the sweetness then don’t get this one. It has fruit flavor but the sugar is gone.
There were 2 Carmenères this time. The Arenal Carmenere was very dry, the Tierra Alta Reserve had a very nice aroma and had a bit more smooth. The Ferrari Carano Cabernet Sauvignon was very good especially with some of the cheeses there were serving.

My favorite was the Spicerack Syrah, which was nice and oaky and nice body. They don’t ship to Georgia so you got to come by the Vineyard to get it.
Next up for Vineyard is an Orin Swift tasting next weekend. Don’t miss that one.

Dr. Konstantin Frank Riesling 2014 | Finger Lakes, New York
A crisp acidity and characteristic Keuka Lake minerality enhance the lively lemon, green apple and floral notes of this wine.–From their Website Cost: $16.99
McManis Pinot Grigio 2014 | Ripon, California
While the wine is crisp, there is a noticeable weight to it. The flavors anticipated by the olfactory senses are abundantly delivered. The finish has a hint of mineral character. Light straw in color the 2014 Pinot Grigio from McManis Family Vineyards is a nose full of citrus scents. Lemon, Lime and Grapefruit are all present.–From their Website Cost: $10.99
Arenal Carmenère 2014 | Colchagua Valley, Chile
“Dark garnet color. Fruity, jammy roasted rustic aromas of black plum, rich garden soil, toasty vanilla, and black licorice with a tangy, dry medium body and a warming amusing, medium-length dried raspberry, tar, roasted cherry, and black licorice finish with medium tannins and moderate oak.” – –From their Website Cost: $9.99
Spicerack Syrah 2011 | Sonoma Coast, California
This is a good wine and they don’t ship to Georgia so stop by the Vineyard.
It displays the varietal typicity of fine syrah with nuances of a fine spicerack. We call our Spicerack Syrah “Punchdown” to reflect the many times the fermenting cap was “punched down” during fermentation. Medium ruby-red and enjoyable now, it displays the varietal typicity of fine syrah with nuances of a fine spicerack.–From their Website Cost: $24.99
Tierra Alta Reserve Carmenere 2011 | Maule Valley, Chile
Clean brambly fruit on the nose. Nicely composed and focused on the palate. Cost: $11.99
Ferrari Carano Cabernet Sauvignon 2013 | Alexander Valley, California
Our Ferrari-Carano Cabernet Sauvignon comes from mountain-grown fruit in Alexander Valley. Vibrant aromatics of cassis, smoky cedar, mint, caramel and leather awaken the senses, while full-bodied flavors of juicy boysenberry jam and plums generously fill the palate. Lingering notes of toasty licorice round out the finish.–From their Website Website Cost: $32.99
