Some of the tasters on Friday afternoon

F or $7 I think this tasting is well worth it (the average bottle price was $16.32). If Dennis knew they were tasting Turley Buck Cobb Zinfandel he’d be over in a heartbeat. These six wines where very nice. The oddest though was the Elicio Grenacha and Syrah. Why odd? These are typically red wine grapes. But together this is a blush wine. Several websites call it a Rosé. Not really sure. I guess you would call it a blush because it’s pink, not red. Kinda like White Zinfandel.
I met Dena, who was attending her first tasting at the Vineyard. She hadn’t finished all six but she told me “I really like the PInot Noir. I think it’s the best so far.” It warmed my heart being a cheap wine bastard. It’s a $7.99 wine.
The Trapiche Oak cask Malbec is unlike any Malbec I’ve ever had. Very dry, very oaky, but very dry. All and all a good little tasting.
