Bill Fishburne was showing off his Wine Barrel cooler he made. They are available for $550.

I stopped for Saturday’s session. I really enjoyed the Waterston Cab and the Merlot. The Merlot was the driest California merlot I’ve had in some time. The can had some nice firm tannins.
Unfortunately the Gran Sarao Cava was gone by the time I stopped by. The St. Christopher Gluhwein was a nice little stopper. It was being served warm with cinnamon sticks and apple slices added. Nice Wintertime toddy.

Gran Sarao Cava | Spain
Pale yellow, giving off light bubbles and crown making. Yeast touches in a fruity background of ripe apple, banana and pineapple. Good mouth feeling, with a light touch of sweetness, harmonious, fresh, elegant, tempting and with character.Gran Sarao cavas are always disgorged prior shipment in order to offer all the fruitness and freshness to the consumers. 30% Macabeo, 40% Xarel·lo, 20% Parellada and 10% Chardonnay.

Waterstone Carneros Chardonnay |
This Chardonnay features bright, concentrated citrus, pear, green apple and nectarine fruit, with nicely balanced oak adding richness to the palate. The wine lingers on the palate, and has the structure and acidity to provide for good longevity.

Deep ruby color. Spicy raspberry and cherry aromas with some spiciness and floral notes. Fresh red berry, black currant, and cherry flavors. Soft, smooth finish.

Waterstone Napa Merlot |
Sweet cherry, ripe plum, hints of vanilla and overtones of anise and aged leather appear in the aroma. On the palate, this generous wine features cherry, plum and blackberry fruit with supple tannins and a lingering finish.

Whiskers Blake Tawny Port |
“Whiskers” The Man: Whiskers Blake was a roguish little bloke who worked in Hardys Tintara vineyard around the turnof the century. His job was scaring birds from the grapes with an old 8 gauge shotgun. He also took it upon himself to regularly test the products.
Rich tawny color with olive hues. The nose is reminiscent of chocolate with coffee overtones. The palate is smooth and mellow with good length and a dry finish. Classic rancio characters are also evident in this flavorsome wine. Website
