A Happy Valentine’s Weekend Tasting

R oger had his annual Valentine’s Wine and Chocolate tasting. La Bonbonnière was there with delicious chocolates to sample and buy if you want some for your sweetheart. Marie-Hélène VandenBrugge-Smith (Bébette) graduated from the Chocolate Academy in Wieze, Belgium and opened her first location at 229 Fury’s Ferry Road.
Also some very nice fruit and chocolate was on hand by Suzanne Beeland of Southern Sophistication. A good place to nibble this weekend.
Bébette’s husband Larry was on hand to help you select the best chocolate including a heart shaped chocolate shell that contains almost a pound of individual chocolates. Also, Roger had a bottle of wine dipped in chocolate. You might be able to take it home with you. Better stop by.
Bébette continues to further her education in the chocolate and confection fields by attending numerous workshops in Belgium as well as in the US. She trained under Jean-Pierre Wybauw (Belgium), Marc Ducobu (Belgium), Norman Love (Florida), Stéphane Tréand (California), Laurent Branlard (Florida), and Jean-Marie Auboine (Las Vegas).
Roger added “”Flowers just isn’t enough, make your loved one swoon even more with a perfect pairing of wine & chocolate. The intricate flavors of chocolate linger on your tongue and often the complex, deep, hidden tastes are subconscious. Make them rise to the surface by mating your chocolate with the perfect wine.”

And of course they had some great wines to sample. The average cost of these wines is $28.50. This is a very much worth the tasting fee.
