I was pleased to see Wine World’s wine selection for its Third Thursday. The last wine of the evening is one my most favorite, Mont Gras Carmenere Reserva 2010. This year’s vintage is a bit young but it shows very nice oak. I really like this wine.
It was popular with other tasters, like Anthony and Nadia, who also said they really liked the Robertson Pinot Noir 2012. time.
The Havarti Dill and the Extra Sharp Cheddar were excellent cheeses.

Refreshing, dry white made from the ancient Picpoul grape. Intriguing citrus aromas with a hint of melon and minerality. Light, fresh white peach and kiwi fruit flavors. A beautiful crisp white. Sautéed flounder filet with a lemon-butter sauce. Creamy cheeses. Cold cuts. Pasta with sage, artichokes, walnuts & Parmesan. Sushi. Delicious summer aperitif!

A marvelous Pinot Gris at an easy-on-your-budget price. Lively aromas and flavors of pears and citrus, a nice note of honeydew melon with just a hint of spice. Clean Slate Riesling 2011
Crisp, pleasant aromas of ripe granny smith apple, pear, and spice. Lightly sweet flavors of peaches, apricots, honeydew melon, sweet pear. Refreshing, with nice acidity and a lingering finish. The light sweetness makes it
a good match for spicy foods and for Asian cuisine. And, of course, with traditional German dishes such as bratwurst, knockwurst and weisswurst. Pad Thai. Pasta with shrimp & zucchini.

A bright & lively Pinot Noir which emphasizes its fresh fruit flavors. Medium ruby with aromas and flavors of rich red cherry & ripe strawberry with light earthy notes. Long finish.
