Wine World Third Thursday Tasting
Wine World Third Thursday Tasting

Event: The Third Thursday tasting was a tasting tour with visits to France, Italy, Australia and Spain. It was kind of an homage to the Tour de France as The Tour spend a day cycling in Italy, pedaled often through the French Wine country and the ultimate winner of the Tour comes from Australia. For this taster there were some very memorable wines from the evening: the Tierra de Castilla Ercavio Blanco 2009 and the Milton Park Shiraz 2009. The Blanco uses a native Spanish grape that is one of the most plated grapes in Spain but is more often used for blending that being used by itself. A hint of bananas makes this wine very interesting.
As for the Shiraz the blackberry, plums and spice, with a hint of black pepper makes you want to buy a bottle and head home and grill a steak.
It was a nice turn out for a nice tasting.
