I ‘m hoping the next 60 minutes are the greatest in Auburn football history.

Once again through some miracle I find myself at an Auburn game with my brother Charlie.

I found the Sweetwater tap van at the SEC FanFare

We stopped by the SEC FanFare before the game and I was glad to see something other than Bud and Coors Light being served. Lo and behold there was the Sweetwater tap truck. As Charlie drank his beloved rice brew I had a Sweetwater Whiplash IPA. This is the first time I’ve had one. Lot darker that I expected for an IPA. Hoppy but an underlying sweetness and not super bitter. I enjoyed it with some natchos and some wings. Later I had their Blue. I thought this was a blueberry brew but if it is then its not as blueberry from the tap as it was the last time I had it in a bottle. Here’s what their site says “Always the funky favorite at any outdoor beer festival, SweetWater Blue is a unique light-bodied ale with a hint of fresh blueberries. It begins with an appealing blueberry aroma and finishes as a surprisingly thirst-quenching ale.” I’ve turned down a few of these before because I don’t care for most blueberry brews but I rather enjoyed it.

During the Auburn pep rally the Terrapin booth finally open. It was closed when we got there. I got a Terrapin Golden Ale . Nice little brew. A very robust ale. Nice and smooth. First I’ve ever tried. They also had the Recreation Ale one of the first canned brews by these guys. Guess I’ll try that one later. Terrapin did a good job in the Golden Ale.

After we finished our brew…. Charlie and his beloved Bud…. we took off for the game. Charlie had found some tickets from a former Auburn player who couldn’t make it to the game. The tickets are in the middle of the end zone. Not sure how far up though.

We just found out seats. Good view but if it was any higher up we would have needed some oxygen. We are 3 rows from the very last row in the stadium. Time to watch some football

Well it’s half time and Auburn is ahead 28-27. This has been an interesting game. Great plays by Auburn and some not so great plays. This is SEC football at its finest. I got no clue as to who will win but no matter the outcome I’m proud of the Auburn Tigers.

I’ve been cheering my heart out. I am thankful 59-42. One prayer is answered. I hope the next prayer is delivered by a angel dressed in green. What are the odds that Michigan State can beat Ohio State. About as far-fetched as thinking a team that was 3-9 last year could win the SEC Championship.

We’re not just lucky. We’re good.

I told Mrs. Dan the Angels were dressed in green. Mrs. Dan says “the lesser of two devils won.” There’s a true Michigan fan for you.
