T he Augusta Museum of History brewed up a second year of Southern Suds: Come for the Beer, Stay for the History. The had lectures on brewing, food, music,and a sampling of craft brews from around Augusta and Georgia.
This year they partnered with Riverwatch Brewery to produce a limited-edition beer based on a historic recipe from an 1870’s cookbook from the Museum’s collection. It is a persimmon and wheat-based brew called Per Simma Down!, with a few ingredients that give it a 21st Century twist. The beer was released during during the event October 21st, 2016.
Also new this year, Brew Master (VIP) ticket holders got to experience food and beer pairings provided by The Hive.
While enjoying food, drinks and sweets by Delightful Bites Cakery, music was provided by DJ Matto, a favorite at Sky City and The Hive. Pub games were available for guests to play throughout the evening: Cornhole, Giant Jenga, Pub Trivia, and table top games including Tic Tac Toe, Hangman, and peg games. End the night with a selfie by our very popular photo booth with fun props!
All ticket proceeds go to the Augusta Museum of History for preservation of collections and public programs.
