Roger and his cuke and mellon sangria
Roger and his cuke and mellon sangria

R oger had a great little tasting. The white sangria was pretty darn interesting. Had cucumbers and honeydew. He held a white and red wine blind tasting which happened to be the wines used in the Sangria. He has a new line of “bag” wines that holds 1.5 liters.
The line is from Bonfire Wines (considering the wildfires they had last year in the wine country aptly named=). The white is Ignite Winemaker’s White Blend from California and Ember Winemakers Red Blend. They also have a Cab. Price point is around $17. Not bad if you are going on a picnic. He also had a pre-made Sangria that was 13.9 percent ABV. Capriccio Bubbly Sangria. Was interesting… and stronger because it is flavored wine, not wine diluted with fruit juice. Don’t sip this one too fast. Comes in a 375ml bottle.
The recipe Roger followed is here on YouTube.
They also out did themselves with the cheeses this week. I actually liked the white sangria, cukes and all.
