I stopped by the Vineyard a bit earlier than usual so I got to be the first to sample but unfortunately not the nibbles. But having just the wines isn’t a bad deal. I enjoyed the Elicio Grenache & Syrah Rosé 2015. Nice summer sipper. Enjoy fruit to make it interesting and crisp enough to make it refreshing.
It’s been a while since I’ve had a Godello. This Spanish grape isn’t mentioned much. The Palacio De Canedo Godello 2014 has some nice subtle flavors/mouthfeel that reminds me of a red but doesn’t taste like a red. It has some Sauvignon Blanc nuances. Nice wine.
And the Meiomi Chardonnay 2015. How can you go wrong with a wine from Meiomi. This is the second tasting with this wine in a month for me. This is a good chard from California… but not one of “those” California chards. I like.
The Robin K Pinot Noir 2013 is a typical Pinot. Not to heavy, not too many dark flavors. No in your face fruit. The La Galope Malbec 2015 was probably my favorite red. I think the acidity on this one is a bit above most Malbec… not to say it’s an acidic wine. But this red is one that I would enjoy more in the summer than during colder months.
They didn’t have a Saturday tasting this week because of the beach blast. I was just glad I could stop by.

Elicio Grenache & Syrah Rosé 2015 | Rhone Valley, France
Fresh red fruit flavors with just a touch of creaminess. A blend of Grenache andSyrah. Drink on its own or with light foods and cheese.
Palacio De Canedo Godello 2014 | Spain
A white wine fresh and fruity, aromas of citrus and pineapple will not leave you indifferent. An entry with sweet notes, which give way to a balanced acidity and a long finish with a slight bitter aftertaste, characteristic of the variety, prompt you to drink again.
It is a perfect paring with seafood, fish, cheeses, meats and white meats. Recommend serving i cool, between 10 and 12ºC.

Meiomi Chardonnay 2015 | Coastal California
Smooth, opulent layers of lemon peel and stone fruit are heightened by sweet smells of crème brûlée, butterscotch, baked apple, shortbread, roasted marshmallow, and spices. The mid-palate is fleshy and rich, followed by a clean, mineral finish.

Robin K Pinot Noir 2013 | California
This Pinot Noir is 100% varietally pure and produced entirely with traditional Burgundian processing techniques. Hand-harvested clusters were gently de-stemmed, leaving whole berries intact. The fruit was cold soaked for 5-6 days, and fermentations utilized Burgundian yeast strains at low inoculation rates to extend the fermentations as long as possible. Extraction was gently carried out with pumpovers to maximize
fruitiness, but the rack and return method was also utilized to enhance the wine’s tannin profile. At peak of fermentation, pumpovers were increased to further drive the extraction. At dryness, the new wines were
drained, pressed, and racked to French oak. Spontaneous malolactic fermentations finished by early spring, and the wine aged for 16 months in 35% new oak. No fining was utilized.
Aromas of black cherry and wild berry are scented with violets, black plum and earthy notes. The wine’s structure has a lively mouthfeel and an elegant mid palate, and ripe, focused tannins balance fine acidity in the finish. The wine pairs well with seafood and lighter dishes, and is hearty enough for roasted meats and more substantial fare.
