Marques de Riscal Rueda 2011
A wonderful “summertime-anytime” white. It’s 100% Verdejo varietal. High aromatic intensity, with floral & tropical fruit notes and hints of fennel & fresh-cut grass. apple and pear flavors with refreshing acidity From one of first producers to promote Rueda in the U.S. market. Appealing summer aperitif. Very food-friendly.  Excellent with gazpacho, greens with vinaigrette, olives & goat cheese.  Fish and shellfish are also natural partners. Chicken, ham, pork pasta. vegetables, tomato-based dishes.  Tangy cheeses.

Haut Marin Gros Manseng 2012
This not-so-well-known grape from  Gascony (SW France) gives one of our favorite white wines.  Its aromas and flavors are flowery and slightly lemony with a refreshing crispness. Medium body. Lingering finish. Aperitif. Very food-friendly. Goes with almost everything. Sautéed sea scallops in a white wine and butter sauce. Vidalia Onion Gratin with thyme & Parmesan.

A blend of 85% Sauvignon Blanc and 15% Semillon. Terrific with sautéed tilapia. Grilled fish with melon salsa. Spinach & artichoke dip.

Four Vines Truant Old Vines Zinfandel 2010
A “new” wine that is actually a longtime favorite. Four Vines is giving its Old Vines Cuvee a name and “wine character.”  Truant breaks our of its routine everday confines, and geographical confines.  It’s blended from multiple appellations throughout California.    77% Zinfandel, 13% Syrah and a little Petite Sirah, Barbera and Sangiovese. Enticing aromas of dark berries and spicy oak. Flavors of juicy blackberry, ripe plum and a touch of blueberry. “Generous in fruit flavors, plenty of structure and a velvety finish.” Grilled steak, sausages, burgers.  Chili.  Korean BBQ. Vegetable Casseroles. Robust cheeses.

Concannon Crimson & Clover Conservancy 2009
A full-bodied red blend of 50% Petite Sirah, 25% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Syrah and 10% Zinfandel.  Aromas of currant, clove, and vanilla lead into bright, fruit flavors of blackberry on the palate. Velvety texture and fruit-filled smooth finish. (Concannon has been a Petite Sirah pioneer and continues to be a Petite Sirah over-achiever.)  Great match for steaks & burgers. BBQ. Grilled zucchini and artichokes with tarragon aioli.  Black pepper-crusted filet mignon blue cheese. Aged Gouda.
