Tricky Rabbit Sauvignon Blanc 2015 | Valle del Maule, Chile
“Fresh citrus notes mingled with pineapple and fresh herbs. Nice acidity, balanced mouthfeel, mineral and citrus (lime & grapefruit) finish.”
Goat Cheese. Oysters in white wine sauce. Seafood. Chicken Tarragon, Greek Salad, Grilled asparagus with Parmesan. This white has 10% Carménère. Website
E Guigal Côtes du Rhône Blanc 2015 | Rhône Valley, France
Distinctive aromas of Viognier (65%) give a lovely , fresh floral aspect along with apricot and white peach. Full body and smooth texture. Aperitif. Seafood. Asian cuisine. Roasted Asparagus w/Feta. Frogs Legs. Scallops in Ginger Sauce. Asian Style chicken. Website
Schreckbichl Pfefferer Moscato Giallo 2015 | Colterenzio, Italy
This dry Moscato is a highly aromatic wine, spicy and “grapey”—and fascinating. Flavors suggest peach and nectarine and citrus. From north-eastern Italy. Spicy appetizers. Salmon with a fruit salsa. Moroccan chicken. Website
Aveleda Charamba 2014 | Douro, Portugal
Ripe, red berry fruit. firm texture and medium tannins make this an appealing red wine. It has a note of smokey edge that makes it a great fit for grilled foods. Game, lamb, firm cheeses, nuts. Moussaka. Grilled vegetables. Website
Cercius Côtes du Rhône Rouge | Rhône, France
Loads of ripe raspberry and blackberry fruit with notes of minerality, Provencal herbs and black pepper. Classic Côtes du Rhône blend: 85% Grenache and 15% Syrah. Good body with supple texture. An “over-achiever” in its price range. Braised lamb shanks. Steaks. Grilled sausages, burgers. Website
Penfolds Club Tawny Port NV | South Australia, Australia
Intense flavors of currants, caramel, vanilla and clove, walnut, honey & dates w/toasty oak. Hard cheeses, crème brûlée, Chocolate covered figs. Dates stuffed with cheddar cheese. Or dates stuffed with Aged Gouda, wrapped in bacon and broiled. Website
