Cave de Pomerols Picpoul de Pinet 2012 | Coteaux de Languedoc, France
Refreshing, dry white made from the ancient Picpoul grape. Intriguing citrus aromas with a hint of melon and minerality. Light, fresh white peach and kiwi fruit flavors. A beautiful crisp white. Sautéed flounder filet with a lemon-butter sauce. Creamy cheeses. Cold cuts. Pasta with sage, artichokes, walnuts & Parmesan. Sushi. Delicious summer aperitif!

Douglas Green Beach House White 2013 | Western Cape, South Africa
A delightful warm weather wine. Bright aromas of lemongrass, lime, and a hint of pear. Flavors of lime citrus and pear with a long finish. Light, bright, and a refreshing finish. A blend of 85% Sauvignon Blanc and 15% Semillon. Terrific with sautéed tilapia. Grilled fish with melon salsa. Spinach & artichoke dip. Aperitif.

Wente Morning Fog Chardonnay 2012 | Livermore Valley, California
An exceptionally lovely Chardonnay with very subtle oak influence. Aromas & flavors of green apple & tropical fruit with spice notes with rich texture and balancing acidity. Refreshing finish. (50% barrel fermented in neutral oak and 50 % fermented in stainless steel tanks to preserve the natural Chardonnay fruit flavors; aged sur lie for 7 months for complexity & texture.) Certified sustainable farming practices. Wente was founded in 1883, its proud winemaking legacy is now in its sixth generation with winemaker Karl Wente. Chicken thighs braised in wine with leeks & cream. Fresh corn casserole with Gruyere.

Ch St Jean Signature Red 2010 | California
A stunning blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Zinfandel, Petite Sirah, Syrah and Malbec which shows aromas of black currants, spice, strawberry and cherry notes, dark chocolate and ripe plums. Rich flavors of blackberry, mocha and spice. Complexity & a spice element are promoted by aging in French & American oak. Spicy BBQ Chicken. Cheeseburgers. Steaks. Eggplant casserole. Rare standing rib roast.
Aged Gouda.

Four Vines Truant Old Vines Zinfandel 2010 | Santa Barbara, California
A “new” wine that is actually a longtime favorite. Four Vines is giving its Old Vines Cuvee a name and “wine character.” Truant breaks our of its routine everday confines, and geographical confines. It’s blended from multiple appellations throughout California. 77% Zinfandel, 13% Syrah and a little Petite Sirah, Barbera and Sangiovese. Enticing aromas of dark berries and spicy oak. Flavors of juicy blackberry, ripe plum and a touch of blueberry. “Generous in fruit flavors, plenty of structure and a velvety finish.”Grilled steak, sausages, burgers. Chili. Korean BBQ. Vegetable Casseroles. Robust cheeses.

365 Blackberry | Armenia
An enticing wine made from 100% blackberry fruit. This wine delivers rich intense aromas and a smooth taste of sweet black fruits.The aftertast has a hint of cedar and background notes of oak. It is no cloying, but has a refreshing, clean finish. (The importer is Noah’s Fruit whose motto is “The Taste of the Biblical Ararat Valley.” ) By itself as dessert or with lightly sweet “biscuits” / cookies or tarts. Some folks love this over ice cream. There are many foods this wine matches very well. Braised chicken with carmelized onions & fruit salsa. Roast Pork Loin with blackberry glaze. Venison roast with cranberries & pearl onions.
