Sierra Nevada Celebration Ale

Sierra Nevada Celebration Ale
Just got home from a Christmas Party. They actually had New Belgium’s 2 Below in a half-keg. It was a nice touch especially after a woman at the party said I was a serial killer and was going to call the police. It was quite the shock to Mrs. Dan to find out she was married to a serial killer. Cereal killer maybe. Maybe she didn’t like the orange Auburn shirt I had on. She might have been an Alabama fan. So, now I’m home and got my feet propped up. Time for the Beer Elf to bring me the 8th Beer of Christmas. So far most of the brews have been very malty with the occasional hops thrown in. With Sierra Nevada Celebration Ale there’s no malts to be had.

One of the thickest heads so far. Really hoppy. This is one hoppy brew. The hops have hops. This starts with a hoppy flavor and ends with a sharp hoppy taste. The taste is consistent from start to finish. Hard to describe the finish other than to say it has a really sharp taste. No malts but there is a bit of toastiness but I think it is from the selection of hops not from doing something with it. It has a clover honey flavor with every bit of the sweetness removed from the honey. Did I say this beer is hoppy. It’s been 10 minutes since my last sip and I still taste it. Brett stopped by and he saw I was drinking it and he went “yuck” and said he had some a couple of nights before and gave the rest of the six-pack away. He didn’t like a that much hops.

I decided to check out the website. “The long, cold nights of winter are a little brighter with Celebration® Ale. Wonderfully robust and rich, Celebration® Ale is dry-hopped for a lively, intense aroma. Brewed especially for the holidays, it is perfect for a festive gathering or for a quiet evening at home.”
