To celebrate the approaching end of Masters Week Roger presented more “outstanding wines. This week it was all Spanish wines. Appropriate since Sergio Garcia won. I guess Roger was psychic. As usual some great nibbles. These wines are a great value. The average price was around $13.30.

Palacio de Canedo Godello 2014 |
A white wine fresh and fruity, aromas of citrus and pineapple will not leave you indifferent. An entry with sweet notes, which give way to a balanced acidity and a long finish with a slight bitter aftertaste, characteristic of the variety, prompt you to drink again. It is a perfect paring with seafood, fish, cheeses, meats and white meats. Recommend serving i cool, between 10 and 12ºC. –From their Website

Monte Oton Garnacha 2015 | Campo de Borja, Spain
The vineyards for Monte Oton are situated high on the windswept slopes of the extinct volcano, Moncayo. The sun drench, arid location is ideal for harvesting, perfectly matured, fully ripened Garnacha grapes. The resulting wine is full bodied, elegantly textured and exhibits a long complex finish. –From their Website

Aldonia Vendimia 2013 | Rioja DOC, Spain
65% Garnacha & 35% Tempranillo, Cherry red in the glass with a violet rim, clean and bright. Very fruity. On the nose, crystallised red fruit (strawberries and cranberries). Light floral hints of violets and underbrush. Notes of liquorice, blood orange and peach on a light backdrop of chocolate and vanilla. The palate is fresh, juicy and structured. Balanced and easy to drink. –From their Website

Valdehermoso Joven Tempranillo 2014 | Ribera del Duero, Spain
The grapes are picked from vineyards planted by Tomás Esteban in the Valdehermoso terroir. The yield is 5,500 kilos per hectare. They are totally free from any artificial fertilizers or chemical treatments. The fermentation process is very gentle without intensive extraction, in stainless steel vats with a capacity of 20,000 kg. During production no enzymes or yeasts are used that do not originate naturally from the grapes themselves.–From their Website

Torremoron Tempranillo 2014 | Ribera del Duero, Spain

TridenteTempranillo | Castilla y Leon, Spain
Tempranillo grapes with which this wine is produced are from very old vines with very little production in the areas of Villanueva de Campeán and El Pego, within the province of Zamora. These vineyards are generally planted on a top layer of gravel over very sandy soils. The fermentation was carried out in stainless steel tanks and then moved to French oak barrels for a period of 15 months. 15 months aging in French oak barrels.–From their Website
