In 1995 Julie and Frank Husic purchased 120 acres in and above the Stags Leap District of Napa Valley. They quickly learned if they wanted to plant grapes, they would have to act fast. An anti-hillside planting law was being put into effect. Vineyard manager Jim Barbour was hired; they were permitted in 1996, and planted in 1997. Three Cabernet Sauvignon vineyards were planted, totaling nine acres. The vineyards exceed 40% slope, going from the Valley floor to 1,000 feet. These beautiful, steep, rocky vineyards produced their first mature crop in 2001, which was released in 2004. A Sonoma Chardonnay was added in 2005, and Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir in 2010. Estate wine Palm Terrace Cabernet Sauvignon is also a brand produced by Husic Vineyards, different only in the blending process. Michael Hirby is Husic Vineyards winemaker.Husic Vineyards is a small family owned business. Sons FJ, age 13, and Paris, age 12, round out the team, helping with bottling and entertaining clients!

The Husic family feels very blessed to have these incredible vineyards, which, in-turn produce incredible grapes, then incredible wine. One of the benefits of making award-winning wines is to be invited by charitable organizations to help raise money for their deserving causes.It is part of the Husic family’s passion to donate their time, and auction lots, to help raise much needed funds to help people, and especially children.

Husic Napa Chardonnay 2015 |
2015 was a very warm year, with consistently high temperatures throughout the summer, yet without temperature extremes. The moderating effect of the Pacific on our West Sonoma vineyards kept things in check, so the days were temperate. Our mature 1980s Old Wente Chardonnay plantings at Dutton Ranch did very well, ripening slowly and producing a wine with richness and finesse. Yields were very low, leading to incredible natural concentration. Aromas of Lemon curd, orange oil, white flowers, Madagascar vanilla, and flint fill the glass. The palate has great volume, and is leavened by the beautiful natural acids this vineyard provides. The finish is long and round, with a sense of elegance holding sway.–From their Website

Husic Pinot Noir 2014 |
Our 2014 Pinot Noir from the Lynch Vineyard near Occidental was planted in 1991 on a west-facing hillside, catching the afternoon breezes coming in from the Pacific. This keeps the aromas fresh while fully ripening the fruit. 2014 was a steady ripening year, leading to our most burgundian Pinot Noir to date. Expect classic aromas of montmorency cherry pit, sassafras, clove spice, wintergreen, and vanilla. Native yeast fermentation has provided the palate with complexity to spare, and the cool vintage shapes the wine with fine acidity, giving the deep flavors shape and intensity. The finish features fine tannins and excellent length.–From their Website

Husic Palm Terrace Cabernet Sauvignon 2013 |
The much-heralded 2013 vintage in Napa Valley is not without cause, and our Palm Terrace 2013 displays why. This is comprised of all estate fruit, based on clone 337 from Julie’s Knoll and clone 7 from the lower terrace in Stag’s Leap District. Pure, soft aromas of blackberry, Madagascar vanilla, white flowers, milk chocolate, and anise rise from the glass. The palate is velvety and soft, with fine tannins displaying the capacity for immediate enjoyment. The finish is balanced, with elegance and poise.–From their Website

Husic Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2014 | Napa, California
Our Flagship Cabernet Sauvignon speaks highly to the power and intensity of the 2014 vintage from the steep hillside and rocky terraces of the Husic Vineyards estate. This is one for the ages, and carries on beautifully the string of great vintages we have had since 2012 in Napa Valley. This has all of the power and density of the 2013, with perhaps more aromatic verve and a slightly more exotic personality. The wine is nearly black in color, with a ruby/purple edge. Deep blackberry, black cherry, dark chocolate ganache, creosote, roasted herbs, grilled bread, and anise find themselves surrounded in harmony with 100% new French Oak notes from the finest coopers. The palate is undeniably powerful and robust, with huge extract and depth of flavor, leading to a finish with knockout flavor and integration of hillside tannin.
