It’s the Third Thursday of the month and time for trying 6 great wines at Wine World. And don’t forget the great cheeses.
A lively crowd enjoyed the wines, which featured some great values, especially the Spanish Albarino and the Pinot Noir from Chile.

Eidosela Albariño 2010
What: Fresh, crisp, lovely citrus and floral aromas. Attractive fruit flavors with a mineral edge. Full bodied, nice acidity. Long finish. Stainless steel fermentation and aging. Sustainable farming. Versatile food wine. From northwestern Spain, a great classic match for seafood.

Seaglass Sauvignon Blanc 2010
What: Attractive herbal, grassy aromas. Crisp, herbal, citrusy flavors. Long, fresh finish. A beauty.

Ledgewood Creek Owl House White
What: A blend of 90% Chardonnay and 10% Muscat. Owl House White shows clean, fresh, aromas of nectarine, green apple and white flowers. Medium-bodied and juicy with flavors of tropical fruit, citrus and a floral note. Round and full of fruit. Very affordable. Aperitif.

Apaltagua Pinot Noir 2010
What: Apaltagua’s Pinot Noir has a brilliant ruby color and emphasizes aromas of cherries, raspberries, and soft notes of oak. It has smooth and elegant tannins and a lingering finish. The grapes come from Apaltagua’s own vineyard in Tricao region. A Wine World favorite.

Hahn GSM 2010
What: A California blend using traditional southern Rhone grapes: 60% Grenache; 37% Syrah: 3% Mourvedre. Intense aromas of dark fruit and berries with vanilla and clove notes. Very rich fruit flavors of black cherry cola, blackberry, fig and pepper are supported by refreshing acidity and a well-integrated tannins. “Sustainable in Practice” certified. What: An exceptional “fruit-forward” Cab Sauv from S Africa. Inviting nose and rich flavors feature mocha and classic cabernet cassis, black currant with hints of clove, fig—and vanilla oak flavors from the barrel aging. Easy tannins and a lingering, tasty finish.
